Just found an interesting concept of a website called SwitchPlanet.com
This website lets you register for free and from there you just need to search for something you want and you can trade it for something you have, all for “free”. Of course you have to pay for the mailing of the things and all.
Don’t know much about the website but it’s obvious that it’s a great source to find DVDs and movies from all over the world, from classics to some of the most recent. At SwitchPlanet.com you can also find music CDs, Games and Books.
Now here is something that surprised me, all the funds of SwitchPlanet go to charity organizations like American Red Cross, he Nature Conservancy, American Cancer Society and a few more. This is a really meaningful gesture.
Also their inspiration for the project was, try to guess it…, Bill and Melinda Gates and the GatesFoundation.org, also Seth Godin of Squidoo.com and Michael Dell. Of course the community also has it share in the inspiration process.
I find this website a really great idea and although I have never used it i’m tempted to give it a look and see how it goes.
